Encuentro Erasmus+ KA210 COPILOT, Enriquecimiento Digital

During the 25th, 26th and 27th of January, our school, IES Cristóbal de Monroy, was the protagonist of the fourth face-to-face meeting of partners in Seville (Spain), framed within the COPILOT programme in which our school collaborates with LOETB (Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board), UCD (University College Dublin) and Akadimos (Veroia, Greece).

We would like to remind you that the COPILOT programme is an initiative that seeks to identify and make visible good practices in relation to the digitisation of educational centres. In this way, digital transformation is addressed.

During the first day of the meeting, the different partners received a warm welcome from the bilingual students of the third year of ESO, and then they were given a tour of our facilities, as well as the way in which we approach digital competences. Many of the teachers invited them to participate in the classes by showing them the daily dynamics. Some of our Physics and Chemistry students also wanted to take the opportunity to present in English the experiments they were currently learning in class. Finally, they visited the library, where the ICT coordinators gave a presentation on the digital practices carried out at our school. Focusing on interesting aspects such as the TDE (Transformación Digital Educativa) project, hardware and software resources, ICT management and the evaluation of digital competences. During the afternoon they were able to learn about a part of the cultural heritage of our city, taking a guided tour led by our Geography and History colleague Pablo Romero.

During the second day, a visit was made to IES Vistazul (Dos Hermanas), a centre that stands out for its digital practices and its Erasmus+ mobilities. The partners of the European project were able to get to know the digital reality of another centre in the province, as well as its facilities.

Afterwards, a visit was made to the CEP (Centro del Profesorado) of Alcalá de Guadaíra where the digital aspects of the Andalusian education system were presented. The director of the CEP, Carmen Poblador, and Gabriel Díaz, CEP advisor, explained the training offer related to the digitisation of teachers, their training demands and the evolution of the training format (face-to-face, blended and distance learning).

The meeting ended on 27 January with a very interesting visit to the University of Seville, at its Rectorate headquarters, where the lecturer from the Department of Human Geography, Miguel García Martín, showed us the digital platforms he uses both for teaching and for communication with his students.

Getting involved as a centre in this type of European project is an enriching teaching experience, and manages to involve and strengthen the digital aspects of the entire educational community.
