Do you know what would be the result of mixing Spain, UK and the minery? Well, it would be the village of Rio Tinto. The 2° and 3° ESO students paid a visit to it about a month ago and it was marvellous!
Throughout this trip, we were shown a large set of amazing exhibitions and displays where we were able to find out about the breath-taking mining history and the English background of this village. Did you know that this village was founded by an English mining company? That’s one of the stunning things we discovered there!
Not surprisingly, the whole tour was in English, allowing us to use and enhance our language skills, a key aspect of the bilingual program. Nevertheless, the guide was quite kind, so he made sure that all of us understood him.
Just think of a wonderland with thrilling landscapes, captivating history and a community with a unique culture, that is Riotinto.
Finally, I must say that the trip was absolutely worth to be given a whirl, taking in that this picturesque experience is, indeed, bucket list material.
